Bristolcon 2015 – Where I'll be

It’s that time again! Read on for my schedule and the chance to win a copy of The Vagrant.

This is going to be my third Bristolcon and, for those of you who don’t know, it’s a small but perfectly formed convention where you can get from panel to bar and back again within sixty seconds.

Here’s where I’ll be:

Breakout Room

9:15 – Open Arms Session – An introduction to the Convention

If this is your first convention or even if you’re just new to BristolCon, come along to a friendly meet and greet and share a hot beverage with some of the staff, panellists and other punters.

Programme Room 1

10:50-10:55 – Reading

17:00 – 17:45 – Bad-ass with a Baby Lor Graham (Mod), Amanda Kear (Doctor Bob), Jasper Fforde, Peter Newman and Stephanie Saulter

It’s still fairly rare to see depictions of parenting in SF&F. If a character has a child, does that mean they’re no longer allowed to be a bad-ass? And how difficult is it to juggle childcare and saving the universe?

The Snug

18:00 – 18:45 – Getting Unstuck (Workshop)

A workshop for any writers who are stuck with a project. It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out or an established writer, at chapter 1 or 100: as long as you have a project you can bring to the group, Peter will try to help you move forward with it.

You can sign up in advance for this one and if they run out of slots, don’t worry! Bristolcon keeps back five spaces for the day.

Competition time!

If you’re going to Bristolcon and want to win a signed copy of The Vagrant all you have to do is attend any of the programme items above and ask me the question: “Am I the First?” If you’re the first person to ask me that, you win. Simple!*

*Bonus points if you do it in the questions section of my panel.
